University District, Calgary

Calgary’s Mindfully Made Community

More than a community offering new houses for sale in Calgary, University District is something different…and something special. It’s innovative; the first community in Alberta achieving LEED ND Platinum status. It’s comprehensive; offering 200-acres of all the amenities, services and experiences you want for your urban lifestyle. It’s connected; an element of a bigger picture and thriving community in Calgary’s Northwest. And it’s well considered; thoughtfully and sustainably planned, designed around nature, and a collaborative effort between dedicated partners committed to creating something new for the city.

And, it could be the next place you call home.

Who is UCPG?

Meet the leaders behind University District – University of Calgary Properties Group. They’re at the helm of the project, dedicated to bringing the greatest value and most innovative approach to developing the land, and in turn supporting UCalgary in advancing its strategic mission.

Master Plan

The plan for University District is one built fully through community. Learn more about how we worked to reimagine Northwest Calgary, and created a vision for U/D to join the world stage with other internationally recognized, environmentally sound, socially conscious and tightly connected communities.

Community Vision

We’re playing the long game, with a vision for how University District will continue to grow and evolve in the years to come. From new builders bringing diversified residential options for home buyers to expansive amenities and services offerings in the queue, we’re thinking big picture.

Connection to University of Calgary (UCalgary)

More than close in proximity to an internationally acclaimed post secondary education facility, every consideration in creating University District was built with the university in mind. The first of its kind in Alberta, University District is designed not only to enhance life for all Calgarians, but to support UCalgary as a world-class academic institution.

Leasehold

Known until 2014 as the West Campus lands, the land that University District occupies was endowed to UCalgary in 1995. Today, in wanting to use the land to contribute to the growth and betterment of the community surrounding the University, a fresh and new-to-Albertans concept is making the land available to urban-lifestyle seeking homeowners: a land lease. It’s an opportunity we’re proud to bring to the city.

Sustainability

With mindfulness leading our every initiative, we’ve poured time, attention, care and thought into University District’s sustainability commitments. Three pronged across environmental, social and financial sustainability pillars, we proudly celebrate international recognition with a LEED-ND Platinum designation; a nod to being a leader in building an accessible and connected community, and long term stewardship for our residents and retailers alike.
