The creation of University District was born out of a gift given to the University of Calgary. University District will, by The Trust, on land endowed to the University of Calgary serve the purpose of enriching the city and the University community.
Wanting to stay true to the development pillars created and the links to the University, the team landed on the decision to honour past University of Calgary Chancellors who have served as the bridge between the city and the University since the University was established in 1966.
